What’s the difference between an execute order and an executive action? Apparently, executive actions are not
Executive, uhh….Presidential Actions given that the 23 released January 16th concerning gun violence are missing from the Official White House site. Published instead, are three memorandums referenced in the executive actions. What’s the difference between a memorandum and an executive order? Nothing – a memorandum is an executive order.
Even though executive actions are not executive orders, it doesn’t mean that they hold no weight. The 23 contain specific directions to the federal agencies who will execute the more generalized executive orders. The power in these executive actions lies in the additional degree of separation between the President and the undoubtedly unpopular regulations that he hopes for.
